A quick note for any interested parties; This site has finally had a long-overdue overhaul, using a more modern looking template. I believe this will make it easier to explore the site, and not overlook any important information. I’ve mostly retained the colors from the previous look, but it’s my feeling that things look more energized now. I liked the old theme, but it was time for a change, and it’s been difficult to find something that would allow showing off the AOM templates in an appropriate matter (as opposed to a more ‘blog-centered’ format, which is mostly what I was finding.
And of course, AOM Skins is now responsive, so you can view it on your mobile device. Like many other sites, I was finding more and more views from phones and tablets, so in that sense, an upgrade was not only something that had been put off far too long, it was essential. Hopefully everyone will appreciate the sprucing up and the ability to check out templates while on the go.
Looking back over some of the older designs has left me wondering if it would be worthwhile to try and update them for mobile usage as well. Some of the non-responsive designs are really too good (he said modestly) to leave behind for desktops only. While I can’t make any promises, it’s certainly something to consider. I’ve been doing a lot of work on the new default layout that will be included with the next upgrade of Associate-O-Matic, and while I don’t want to let the cat out of the bag too soon, I think it’s going to be something very special. Yes, it will be fully responsive, and will have oodles of new features. But more on that at a later date.
The main thing today is that AOM Skins is sporting a new look, and now functional on small displays as well as desktops. As I write this, there are still one or two more little tweaks I want to address, but it’s all minor stuff. Check it all out!
